World Suicide Prevention Day: September 10th Worldwide

Key Points on World Suicide Prevention Day: 

  • World Suicide Prevention day is observed in 10th September each year.
  • This main purpose of organising this day is to raise the awareness towards suicide prevention.
  • World Suicide Prevention Day was first organised in 2003.
  • The World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is organised by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • The theme of ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’ for this year (2023) is “Creating Hope Through Action”.
  • Suicide is one of the major concern for the humanity, every year approximately 1 millions people do suicide.

Indian Army Launches ‘North Tech Symposium’ 2023 in Jammu

  • Indian Army has inaugurated the ‘North Tech Symposium’ in Jammu.
  • The Symposium will run from 11th September to 13th September 2023.
  • During the Symposium, various high-tech gadgets like communication devices, made in India weapons and military vehicles will be displayed to the peoples.
  • This three day symposium is organised by Indian Army with IIT Jammu and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers.
  • The event is based on the theme of “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat”.
  • Note: General Manoj Pandey is the current chief of the Army Staff of India.

Odisha will host the International Convention on Millets

Key Points:

  • The International Convention on Millets is scheduled to be held from November 9 to November 10 in Odisha.
  • On 10th November 2022, Odisha celebrated Mandia Divas (Millet Day) to promote the cultivation and consumption in the state.
  • Note: Capital of Odisha is Bhubaneswar, Naveen Patnaik is the Current Chief Minister of Odisha.

National Forest Martyrs Day 2023 observed in India

Key Points:

  • The National Forest Martyrs Day is commemorated on 11 September every year.
  • This day is observed to tribute to the peoples who sacrificed their lives for protecting the forests and wildlife.
  • This day origins back to 1730  Kherjarli Massacre. In 1730 Maharaja Abhai Singh of Marwar Kingdom gave order to cut down Khejri trees, but 363 peoples of Bishnoi Community led by Amrita Devi resisted the tree cutting orders. The soldiers of the Kingdom killed all the peoples.
  • In 2013, the Ministry of Environment declared 11 September as National Forest Martyrs Day.

Uttar Pradesh Government’s Starts the Process of implementation of the Nand Baba Milk Mission

Key Points:

  • The Uttar Pradesh Government has formed a committee to start implementing the Nand Baba Milk Mission.
  • The 1,000 Crores Rupees Nand Baba Milk Mission was launched to ensure to provide fair price of the milk to all the milk producers in the state.
  •  The establishment of Primary Dairy Cooperate Society Mukhyamantri, Swadeshi Gau Samvardhan Yojana, The Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana and Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashipalak Protsahan Yojana are four schemes that are being run under the Nand Baba Milk Mission.

India Wins Cricket match Against Pakistan in Asia Cup

Key Points:

  • In Asia Cup Cricket ODI, India won the match against Pakistan by 228 runs.
  • Virat Kohli scored 122 runs and setted the record of the fastest cricketer to reach 13,000 run in a One-Day International Cricket Match.
