The selection process for the Indian Coast Guard recruitment consists of several stages:

  1. Online Application: Candidates must apply online by the specified deadline.
  2. Identity Check: Candidates will undergo identity verification at all stages, including photo matching, biometrics, signature, and identification mark.
  3. Stage-I (Computer Based Exam): Candidates will take a written examination, and passing marks vary based on the post applied for. This stage contains document verification like identity, photos, admit card etc. and Biometric recording of the candidates.
  4. Stage-II: Candidates shortlisted from the computer based exams will first go through an OMR based assessment test. The selected candidates from this test will proceed to the Physical Fitness Test. And in the last part is of document verification and initial medical examination.
  5. ** About Physical Fitness Test (PFT): The Candidates should carry their sports attire like shoes, trousers etc. The PFT includes a 1.6 km run in 7 minutes, 20 squat-ups, and 10 push-ups. These tests will be taken continuously without any breaks.
  6. Stage-III: Provisionally shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification, final medical examination, police verification, and submission of original documents.
  7. Stage-IV: During training, candidates will submit original documents, which will be verified by Indian Coast Guard. Termination may occur if documents are found to be not genuine.
