Himachal Pradesh Launches Mukhyamantri Sambal Yojana to Support Differently-abled Children with Education
Key Points on Himanchal Pradesh’s Mukhyamantri Sambal Yojana:
- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Sambal Yojana (मुख्यमंत्री संबल योजना) on September 4, 2023, in Nadaun of Hamirpur district.
- The scheme aims to provide educational assistance and resources to differently-abled children in the state.

Global Fintech Fest 2023: Mumbai Hosts Premier Fintech Event

- This Global Fintech Fest 2023 is a collaborative effort by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the Payments Council of India (PCI), and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC).
- The theme for Global Fintech Fest 2023 is “Global Collaboration For A Responsible Financial Ecosystem“
- Global Fintech Fest 2023 is scheduled from September 5 to 7 at Jio World Centre, Mumbai.
ISRO Shares Selfie and Images of Earth and Moon Captured by Aditya L1 Solar Mission
Key Points:
- India’s first solar observatory mission, Aditya L1, has captured images of itself, Earth, and the Moon. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) posted these images on their social media account of X, previously known as Twitter.
- Aditya L1 Mission: Aditya-L1 where Aditya means ‘the Sun’ in Sanskrit, is a satellite built by India to closely study the Sun. It has 7 special tools, with 5 made by ISRO and 2 by Indian universities.
- Aditya-L1 was launched on 2nd September 2023 and is currently on its way to the L1 Lagrange Point.
- L1 Lagrange Point: The “L1” in Aditya-L1 refers to Lagrange Point 1 in the Sun-Earth system. This is a place in space where gravitational forces between the Sun and Earth are balanced, which allows stability.

- International Literacy Day (ILD) is celebrated every year on September 8th to highlight the significant role of literacy.
- UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) plays a role in organizing International Literacy Day globally.
- Theme of International Literacy Day 2023: The theme for International Literacy Day 2023 is ‘Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies.’
- History of International Literacy Day: UNESCO officially declared September 8 as International Literacy Day during its 14th Session in November 1966.

Indian Men’s Table Tennis Team Secures Bronze at 2023 Asian Championships
- The Indian men’s table tennis team won the bronze medal at the 2023 Asian Table Tennis Championships, held in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
- India’s team lost 0-3 to Chinese Taipei in the semi-finals, and received a bronze medal.

India’s First Gorilla Glass Manufacturing Facility by Corning Inc. to Come Up in Telangana with Rs 934 Crore Investment

- Corning Inc., a US-based leader in specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials, is entering the Indian market with its gorilla glass manufacturing business.
- The company will set up a facility in Telangana, to manufacture gorilla glass for various smartphone brands.
For the First Time, Women in Madhya Pradesh to Operate Toll Plazas
Key Points:
- Women’s self-help groups in Madhya Pradesh are now operating toll plazas in Aagar Malwa, Ujjain’s Kayatha, and Chhatarpur’s Sanjay Nagar.
- The Agreement between the Women’s Self-Help groups and the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation states that the women’s self-help group managing the toll plazas will receive 30% of the toll collection.
Second Naval Commander Conference 2023 Held in New Delhi.
- The Second Naval Commander Conference 2023 took place in New Delhi from September 4 to 6
- Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Naval Commanders during the conference.
- One of the main focuses of the conference was on tri-service energy and boosting the ‘Make in India’ initiative for indigenous production.
